Glasgow’s second finest group of lads that strap basses and guitars on an some cunt plays the drums, United Fruit released an album in 2011. Have you heard it? No? What!? It's this big mental fucking organised shambolic mess of brilliant guitars just going riff mental and the bass 'n' drum fingering fuck out of that noise or muffing it, like the guy I seen doing that to the older lady years ago in a bin-shed in Rutherglen.
Nine songs make up 'Fault Lines'. In many ways this album is to ...Trail of Dead's 'Madonna' what Sonic Youth's 'Evol' was to Conrad Keely and Jason Reece. But big fucking wow I say, because I fucking love both of those bands and as I've stated before, if you are going to rip bands off, make sure they are good. A musical man train, train of flesh. Or a sonic version of Lemon Party. Yes. That’s better.
So aye. This album hangs out in good company and it's all the better for it. One song ('Go away, don’t leave me alone') is just basically a filthy love letter to …Trail of dead. Really hate to have mentioned what everyone else has, but it certainly gives you an idea about what you are going to illegally download, listen to on Spotify or maybe even buy. Rest of the album is just the band rattling guitars that are in weird tunings while the singer rasps stuff, fuck knows what. The whole band can do this shit quite well so I'm really confused as to why they are still unsigned. I sincerely hope these guys are knocking back labels left right and centre and have not been totally overlooked by those fuds who I guess sign bands up. If you have a label, an are bored with all your dickhead bands, sign these cunts up!
Get some United Fruit in you five times a day and you won't get cancer.
