MinionTV - S/T

All right indulge me with this one. Imagine living in a log cabin in the forest overlooking a beautiful and breathtaking valley, having arrived here by night you couldn't see the stunning picture below but as you wake up, walking to the window you feel very much overpowered and in awe of what you are presented with. That's the feeling I got listening to the first song on this album. MinionTV, a band I’ve always wanted to listen to, admittedly because I heard good things and I was not disappointed. This 5 piece purveyors of what can only be described as beautiful music, reminiscent of Do Make Say Think mixed with some Maybeshewill hardiness, really hit home to me with this self-titled album.

Like I said, this album starts beautifully and ends beautifully, almost seeming like this album was made for of the most blissful day's you'll ever experience with a lot of seemingly energetic tracks in between, giving the sense of a child's wonder for everything. This defiantly gives off one of those days in the woods kind of feel, in the sense that it just feels exploratory and wondrous.

Songs to look out for are: We Are Ghosts, the aforementioned first track and I Hit, I Miss, I Fall, a song which reminds me a lot of the song, Explosions in the sky, Glittering Blackness but a lot louder and quicker. Fans of this newer style of Post-Rock will enjoy this band hopefully as much as I have, using a lot of “twinkled” type tones, pronounced drum beats, harmonized bass along with their trademark effects on guitar. This is a must have also for more energetic ambient fans.
