Chris Brown. Cunt. Rapper. Icon. Artist. Through the rainy night he drives. Fast. One hand on the wheel and his other holding a tiny glass jar under his nose. SNNNNNNNNRFF. “Chrissy baby, yo know dat shit be bad.” Rhianna chimes in her warning in between hoovering massive lines of ching. Dressed like a prostitute from Mad Max 3, she clicks her fingers along to the music playing.

“What is this shit that's on, BITCH? It sounds like Commodore 64s fuckin, bitch.” Rhianna looks up, her face covered in Columbian marching powder.

“It's KID606's new EP, honey.” Chris pulls the hulking mechanical steel machine into a layby. Unimpressed with the music, he looks at his lady. High on bath salts.

“I love you bitch. So am gonna eat yo face off. Everything is business.”

'LSDMTB303' is a beautiful collection of tracks. Even if its opener does sound like something from a hip hop slasher film, fruity tones and Krueger voice purring away, it doesnt ruin the EP's charm. It's like Halloween in the ghetto. If this EP is just Kid606 fucking about with a 303 Groovebox then I'd be quite impressed, as I own one and all the stuff I compose on it ends up sounding like Scooter or 'happy hardcore chipmunk music'. If you are into classic 80/90s electronic music you will love this.

It's all straightforward stuff unlike some of Kid's previous releases. For example, 'Dark Archipegalo' is like something you'd hear from the Rephlex label. If you listen to this on the bus, beware: you'll awake a rager that not only will burst your trousers but won't leave for a week [or a wide-on, equality ed]. Groovy synths skip along to blips 'n' blops, then get propelled by classic 303 drum patterns and bass lines. Ectoid material. This track is upbeat, but even the downbeat tracks like the synth-heavy 'LSDMTB303' hold the same appeal. The whole EP sounds like the perfect soundtrack to a montage of all your best fucks. It's big. It's happy. It's beautiful. I, for one, cannot wait to hear Kid606's impending full album release.
