New track from pianist and composer Rich Batsford.

Darren Bibby: It's really easy to be kind to something like this because it's a guy playing the piano. However, beyond the worthiness, it's a really boring song; starting, going nowhere in particular, stopping, starting - Jesus wept! Having said that, if it had a bit of brass at the end there it would be magically transformed into a lovely bit of pathos. And it's ripe for some remix action with the vocal line. 2 beards

Lizzie Banoffee: Do you think he's actually played this or programmed it in MIDI? It's rather odd, isn't it. It would make a great dark glitch / dubstep track though. It needs something doing to it, because it just sounds like a sketch of an idea at the moment. That piano is a bit incessant for me and towards the end I felt a bit stabby. Erm, I always feel mean giving low ratings but I'll go as low as 2.5 Beards.

Sam Green: It's really simple and laid back but it lacks a bit of substance. It's the kind of track that a pianist creates on his own without any other creative input, something which is imperative to tunes like this, unless you're a multi-instrumentalist. Also the mix of the track is a bit weird and the crackling/clipping sound all the way through really spoils it. Real potential to be a great track if it was worked on a little more. 3 B's.

Chris Washington-Sare: Agree with Sam on this one about lacking substance. The piano is all well and good in a sub-Nyman style but the vocals are limp and it's all a bit too home-made ambient. It's not bad, just a bit 'so what'. Played it once. Doubt I'll do so again. 2 Beards
