The official music video for "Drought" from Always The Quiet Ones' 2012 double A-side "Drought. 'Ghost in the Filament", available for download athttp://alwaysthequietones.bandcamp.com
Chris Washington-Sare: Bits of this are good - like the first 30 seconds and the last 30 seconds promising Gallows-style hardcore. The rest of the song underwhelms almost taking a sharp turn into hair metal territory at one point. Disappointing. 2.5 beards
Darren Bibby: If you pressed mute, you'd think there was some kind of dissonant hardcore being clattered out. But no, it's the sort of band you see at a pub in Telford. I fucking hate this on every conceivable level. There is no way they realise how close this is to Bon Jovi. 1 beard
Sam Green: Right from the off, I'm going to say that this is the biggest musical cliché we have ever featured on the site, ever. The lead singer probably listens to Bon Jovi and Kasbian on repeat and practices in his bedroom whilst his mum is down stairs. That Darkness style falsetto scream just made me stop the track. 1 Beard.
Lizzie Banoffee: More of them should have taken their tops off, and maybe their pants too, to distract the viewer from how bad it is. But that wouldn't work on the record... Seriously, what market are they trying to reach with this? Although I will say I like that "woo-wooo" guitar sound. Sorry I can't be more technical than that. It's not badly played though, is it? It's tight and in tune. But shit. 2 Beards.
