Nice n Sleazy's downstairs venue is tiny. I feel like my head is scraping off the ceiling when I walk through the crowd to see Glasgow mentalists Holy Mountain, who have started while I was upstairs. I caught the band unexpectedly when they supported Guitar Wolf, and blame the venue (MONO) and the weather (HEAT) for it being a bit flat. Tonight is different. Holy Mountain go balls out and deliver a set that's one half new material and the other classics from 'Earth Measures'. When 'Gunner' hits, it feels like everyone in the audience is going to bowl over from the sexual sonik energies coming from the Orange Amps. I ain't seen so much Orange stuff since last the last time I caught a swatch of a stinking "Neanderthal walk" back home. It feels too short when the band call an end to the set and I return upstairs to get as much bevy in me as I can for the interview .

In these 25 minutes Pete, Andy and Allan effuse about what gets them off, what gets their goat and how much they enjoy people like us constantly mentioning BLACK SABBATH in the same breath. And IDLEWILD. You get a sense of their wired enthusiasm as individuals, and it's easy to imagine how this is captured by their music.
